RagTagd SMART TAGS FOR LOST PROPERTY
We are excited to announce that The Uniform Shop is now ready to trial a new technology that will save parents/carers time and money recovering lost property at school. This trial system will run until October 2016 and we are targeting parents/carers of children who regularly lose uniform garments at school. Currently, a total of 300 special readable RagTagd SmartTags are available on a first come first serve basis. SmartTags are either:
- already sewn onto fleece and lightweight jackets only for new purchase either online at chatswoodpublicpandc.org.au or from the Uniform Shop OR
- for interested parents/carers who can request for the SmartTags to be sewn easily on your own to protect your children’s already purchased uniform garments.
Interested parents/carers, please request for the SmartTags using this form: http://goo.gl/forms/6d6SPzzgIa19SlBv1 . Successful requests will be contacted via email or phone and a time will be organized to provide the SmartTags.
SmartTags are activated with a single SMS, no app is required. With these SmartTags attached on any clothing item and if they are subsequently returned to our lost property section which is in the current location near the Confucius Classroom will be automatically scanned in the bins via the sensors attached above and as a result, a text message (SMS) will be sent to the registered owner. For the system to be successful, the item must have the SmartTags attached and they must be placed in the bin. Cooperation from parents/carers/teachers/staff to place these “lost items” into the Lost Property bins is fundamental to the success of this system for all. The P&C are excited to be a part of this initiative.
